COVID-19 Updates & Awareness
With the global effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 presenting tough choices for companies and business leaders, we recognize that maintaining the quality of your service while taking precaution to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients, families, and friends is of key importance. We are following daily developments closely and want to inform you of preventative measures we are taking and recent changes to deadlines this tax season.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on March 17 that taxpayers can delay paying their income taxes on as much as $1 million of taxes owed for up to 90 days from the April 15th deadline. Ordinarily, individual income taxpayers must submit their 2019 tax returns and pay amounts owed by April 15th. This means taxpayers will still have to file their tax returns or request an automatic extension by the April 15th deadline, but they won’t have to pay their tax bill for 90 additional days for payments up to $1 million.
We take this matter very seriously and would like to inform you of several changes we have put in place to deter any further spread of this virus. During this time some of our staff will be working remotely. While we plan for our offices to remain open, we believe it is very prudent to limit in-person meetings. Therefore, we are encouraging all meetings and conferences to take place over the phone and that you share any and all documents with our team members via mail, fax or email. We use Sharefile (an encrypted software) that allows you to send documents safely over the internet. Please contact us to send you a Sharefile link to upload documents, if you wish.
We are happy to have these options available as they offer a safe route to conduct our meetings and complete your work with little interruption or reason for rescheduling. If you have an upcoming appointment you will be contacted by our office to confirm this change and discuss which option works best for you.
We value our relationship with you and thank you for trusting us during these unprecedented times. We are committed to staying in contact with you as we continue to update you regarding this matter. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Wishing you all good health and happiness.
